Tesiro is a name which means ‘God had me in (His) mind’, or ‘God thought of me’. This has inspired me. It is not just a name, it is a Biblical truth, a fact.
Jeremiah 29:11 says:
“For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome” (Amplified Bible)
It has been life-changing to get to know and believe that GOD thinks about me, has plans for my life and these plans are good. I have been a Christian for most of my life, but I would not have made many of the wrong choices I have made if I had a real understanding of this Scripture and its implications for my life.
Welfare is to do with general well-being, prosperity, success, happiness, and health. This is what God plans for my life. Peace is defined as the absence of war; freedom from strife; absence of mental anxiety; a state of stillness, silence, or serenity. In God’s plans for my life I have peace every day. It is His desire that I look forward to my future with hope, not fear or despair (antonyms of hope).
This is what God planned when He created me, and it applies to everyone. No wonder I was inspired! This one Scripture lets me know without a shadow of doubt that domestic violence or abuse is NOT God’s plan for my life, or for your life. It has made me want to strive towards experiencing these things in my day to day life.
I hope that women who have experienced or are experiencing violent or abusive relationships, or anything that is less than God’s plans of welfare, peace, and hope in their lives will find the entries to come inspiring and uplifting, and that together we can journey from fear and despair toward hope, from abuse and unhappiness toward welfare, and from stress and strife toward peace.
